Universal Reader
Overview:
The Universal Reader is our most popular data matrix reader with thousands sold world-wide.Its reading performance is second to none when it comes to reading data matrix codes applied to small components.
The reader incorporates our own design of led lighting and light diffusion to optimize reading at the glass surface.
Read rates of up to 30 reads per second are achievable when used with our 2D Vision software package.
The reader is used in many industries, reading coded items where many other devices fail such as

The universal reader really comes in to its own when reading small, reflective or low contrast marked items such as stainless steel bolts and electronic components.
It is our experience that using handheld readers for such tasks is much more tricky as handhelds are usually difficult to focus and aim, and require a two handed process. The universal reader requires only one hand to bring the item to the glass and has a definate location where the code will be read.
The unit features colour coded plastics which can help distinguish between units if ore than one unit is on a workbench. This simple but effective design feature can help identify sequences in a process. E.g Green and red scanners can be used to identify sterile and dirty instrument scanning in a laboratory or medical environment.

The universal reader is available as a package to include the 2D Vision Software, or as a standalone hardware-only item without decode software.
